Some bands like to work backwards.  The Republic of Wolves is one of those bands, and they’ve so far proven that it’s not a bad strategy.  With only as much as an EP to their name and an amount of live shows you can count on your fingers and toes, they are releasing their first full-length album later this month.  As if that’s not daunting enough, the band did it all themselves; from the writing to the mastering, this album is theirs.  After their show in Brooklyn last week we were able to find the only quiet space in the venue (which just so happened to be in the basement).  Surprisingly, the rats left us alone for a few minutes while the six-piece played “The Attic” from that forthcoming LP, Varuna.
